SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos Hierax, circa 242-227 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.63 g, 12 h), Abydos. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to inner left, long torch; in exergue, eagle standing left and monogram. Naumann E-Auction 23 (2014), 476 corr. (same dies, but misdescribed). SC -, cf. 840 (obverse) and 841 (reverse). Extremely rare. The obverse somewhat rough and with minor edge chipping, otherwise, very fine.
